Dive into the world of backyard chicken keeping in this workshop designed for beginners. Learn everything you need to know to raise healthy chickens and enjoy fresh eggs right from your own backyard.
Led by Audra Holmes, this workshop covers selecting the right chickens, setting up a chicken coop, proper feeding and care routines, understanding egg production cycles, troubleshooting common challenges, protecting from predators, and embracing sustainable practices.

So You Think You Want Livestock: Choosing Fences and Shelters
In So You Think You Want Livestock: Choosing Fences and Shelters, we will go over recommended essentials before you bring any livestock home. We will discuss pros and cons of different types of fencing and what livestock each fence type will contain. Then, we will discuss shelter options, many of which are low cost and easy to DIY.
While our farm is a regenerative farm that utilizes electric fences and mobile shelters, this workshop will not be limited in its scope. We have experience raising pigs, goats, and poultry, but the fencing and shelter solutions can be utilized for a wide range of livestock.
So You Think You Want Livestock is an ideal workshop for someone who is in the research phase of adding animals to their property or for someone who is exploring different ideas of how to improve their current setup. Our workshops are held rain or shine, so please dress for the weather!
