Feed Shed Tour
Let’s take a tour of our feed shed! When we bought our property there were absolutely no outbuildings on it, not even a shed. Our garage became a catch-all for everything gardening and animal related. The first thing James built was the chicken coop. Hauling feed from our garage made taking care of the animals that much more time consuming. We were so excited when we received a framed lean-to as part of our rabbit hutch purchase. James went to work on siding it using barn wood from a different Craigslist pickup, completing our feed shed.
Inside, we have two 30 gallon trash cans, one with rabbit pellets and the other with chicken pellets. The blue tote holds Timothy hay for the rabbits. We also have an assortment of other items in here such as a rabbit cage, chick and chicken feeders, a heat lamp, water dishes, chicken scratch, chick feed, wood shavings, and live traps. As you can see, the feed shed is pretty full. It is so nice to have easy access to the things we need daily right next to where the animals are. As we add more animals, we will definitely need more storage space. Fortunately, James has another shed ready to assemble as part of our preparation for goats. Perhaps, one day we will even build a barn…
